“Our business offers customers Transitions… whether someone’s a Doctor or a Factory worker – they become someone different on their motorcycle,” says Kathy, whose Southside résumé dates back to 1973. Through the years, she has worked the counters, kept the books, managed the office and today, as General Manager since 1998, she’s been involved in nearly every aspect of the store’s growth and operation, now overseeing all managers and departments. She fondly remembers the old store but points out that many of the new store design elements - exposed brick, wood, glass block – capture the old store’s warmth and reminder of the S. Meridian Street location. “In the past we have taken newer employees there – just to show them our roots.”

A biker since age 13, today her motorcycle of choice is her ’03 100th Anniversary Dyna Low Rider. She’s been known to take some long trips by herself and some with family and friends. She says one of her most memorable (longest!) rides was 4,200 miles in 10 days through Nova Scotia with a stop at Niagara Falls. On being the GM of a 63+ year old business, she adds, “The opportunity to work with family has been special. Only 2% of family businesses survive to the 4th generation. It’s our life – and I love everything that goes along with it.”
