I spoke with them about 1 year prior to my purchase date and they helped answer every question I had until the day I purchased my new Harley. The entire staff was more than helpful with me, answering my questions in person, via phone and email. They made it a point to reach out to me every few weeks either by phone or email to touch base with me and ask If I had any other questions or concerns. "In Sept. 1973, I walked into Meridian St. Harley Davidson. They had no bikes to sell, for you had to put your name on a list. When I walked in there was a blue one right by the door. They told me it was sold but there was a chance the customer might change his mind and would I like my name put on the list for that bike. Never thought I had a chance, but 3 days later I got a call. It was a Wed. I was living up by Hammond, Ind. I drove down that night and someone stayed for me to pick up my new Super Glide. I was the happiest kid around. Couldn't get much better than that. I miss the old place. In '05 when I was looking for a new Harley, I went there, only to find it was gone. Now I find it is Southside. I am in the market again and will be stopping by. Ty for all the good memories from back then. Wish there were more pictures from the old place on here, but alas it's another day. I was 23 back then and I'm 62 now. Ty again, Curtis"

"I can remember my first ride on my Dad's HD. I sat on the front of his seat and held on to the gas caps. From that first time, I was hooked. When he dropped his bike, he sold it back to sshd. It was a sad day for me. 9yrs later I bought my first HD from sshd - a 125. What a fast bike at 13 yrs old. Now 39 yrs and 5 harleys later, I'm on a 2008 Road Glide. My how times have changed. sshd has changed location but they have the same great service. The people are the same. I sure miss the old wooden floors at the old place and all the biker cops hanging around. Thanks for all the good times. He did however, mention a special deal on a bike in stock that did spark my interest. I asked him to email pictures to me, which he did immediately. "I ordered my bike when I was in Germany back in 2008. Got a sweet 2009 Night Train. Well needless to say I got shipped to Korea Harley was great and held on to my bike while I was in Korea due to as everyone knows they stopped making the Night Train. Well then i needed to get delivery in the states. Contacted South Side Harley about delivery and service was tip top all the way thru. They were even nice enough to send me pic of her when she came in. I will most defentatly be going back when I'm home on leave. Best Harley shop I have been to. "The sales department is amazing. I worked with Bill and every time I come back, he stops and talks to me for a few min even if he was doing something else, he still stops and talks to me. That's awesome, I've never had a sales dept care about their customers that much after the sale. The service dept is also amazing, every time I go down there they treat me great and have my bike finished faster then they estimate. The parts dept is pretty good too. I had a few minor problems because the book they had readily available didn't have the parts that I was looking for my 2010 Road King but as soon as they got the right book in hand they were able to get everything I wanted in a reasonable time frame.

" We came to Indiana to pick a friend, we stopped into Southside to get some items. The cashiers were very nice and helpful. But what I am writing about is, after we had left one of our friends' bike had broken down, less than 2 miles away from Southside, Tommy Doyle, a pick up and delivery man for Southside, had been coming the opposite direction He stopped and asked if everything was alright. When he heard "no", he went down and turned around, came back and gave us some assistance. He loaded our friends' Heritage Softail onto the trailer and we returned to Southside. Tommy had radioed ahead and told them that he was bringing in a traveler. Once we arrived, Tommy unloaded the bike and took it into the shop. When the kick stand went down, Tommy proceeded to go back to work. We were there for maybe 5 mins when Larry came out and jumped right on it. Our friend, Brian, told him what he thought was wrong and he said he would get it fixed so we could be back on the road. We were gone maybe an hour to get something to eat. We walked in and the bike was sitting there waiting on Brian to return. There were nothing we would rather talk about when we made our stops, than to talk about the people at Southside and the professionalism of the entire staff. Being avid riders, we have traveled extensively, and have never received the assistance we got that day. If we ever pass that away we will be stopping back in."

Even more so, as I was knocked down & injured by a kid in a Mustang & did over $2500 damage to my bike. "In December my wife and I bought FXRG outfits head to toe except FXRG gloves. I rode in the outfit, long johns, and t-shirt in -10 degrees without wind. I didn't feel any air at all except for my fingers and today I rode all day in the rain from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM and I didn't feel any drop of water hitting my suit or my body at all. By far this is the best investment that I have ever gotten from Harley Davidson motor clothes. You don't find these things at Southside, Troy, our salesman, couldn't have been any better, no pressure, no typical sales BS, and no broken promises. Just easy going, professional and best of all very knowledgeable about the bikes he's selling.
George, our finance guy, was the same way (I know hard to believe) I have never met a finance person I ever liked until now. Once again no pressure and no hidden costs and even though we weren't the only customers that day, he never made us feel rushed or as just another sale.

"Unfortunately my 2007 touring bike was hit last August..and I just picked up my bike 8 months later... (READ ON)... Although, by no fault of Southside Harley and More importantly Chris, delays from insurance, getting parts and a custom tank being packed wet..it took time.
Most customers wouldn't write a letter of praise if it took that long, but I am. Why? Because the dealership showed empathy, they understood and they worked hard to make everything perfect. They kept in contact, showed humor, and wanted my Harley to be returned to me as it was (showroom new with 500 miles on it). I judge people on the work they do, how they handle adversity and their job. Chris couldn't have done anything better to make me a satisfied customer.
So when we talk about having work done-- Southside, when we talk about a caring business- Southside.. when we talk about someone providing superior customer service, we talk about Chris and Southside Harley.
